Everywhere you look there is beauty, for there is a manicured, garden like appearance to much of Bali, along with the rice paddies tripping like steps down the hillsides and the volcano cones slumbering in the distance. Handicrafts and artworks are superb. Different beaches offer entirely different ambience and attractions. Kuta is the most famous. First discovered by the surfers and hippies of the 60s. Seas of yellow appear on thoroughfares as million of Thais wore yellow shirts with the royal emblem as a show of solidarity, love and respect for the monarch!. I have some cool video(below) called it "Amazing Thailand". From this video we can describe generally about Thailand.

No less moving was the rare Royal Barge procession along the Chao Phraya "River of Kings". It was a tremendous sight-and-sound experience rendered by flawless choreography of oarsmen in splendid costumes led by mesmerising chants. This country has a lot of history and culture and those who lived in this part of the world were those who established most of the things people enjoy today.

Italy situated in Mediterranean Europe has land frontiers with France in the north-west, Switzerland and Austria in the north and Slovenia in the north-east. The peninsula is surrounded by the Ligurian Sea, the Sardinian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea in the west, the Sicilian Sea and the Ionian Sea in the south and the Adriatic Sea in the east. Italian is the language of the majority of the population but there are minorities speaking German, French, Slovene and Ladino.

Planning a vacation and deciding where to go can be challenging. This is because there are so many places to choose from and it takes a large amount of money should the person travel with the whole family.

Those who want to see the works of Michelangelo and the center of the Church should visit Rome where the Vatican City and the Sistine Chapel are located. Remnants of the Roman Empire where gladiators once fought can be seen in the Colosseum while the Pantheon is also an important landmark to check out.

Another city a few miles north of Rome is Florence. Here, the individual will visit the former capital of this country before it was transferred to Rome. There are three large palaces to check out which are the Palazzo Medici-Riccardi, the Palazzo Strozzi and the Palazzo Vecchio.

If there is time, other important landmarks to have a picture taken are the Campanile di Giotto, the Piazza del Signoria, the Teatro Comunale, the arched Ponte Vecchio Bridge, and the world-famous Duomo/Santa Maria del Fiore that is better known as the Cathedral of Florence.

Another cool place to check out is the city of Venice. This is the only place in the world where the mode of travel is by boat. The visitors can pass the Grand Canal that is three kilometers long and up to 70 meters wide.

Along the way, the person will see buildings such as the baroque church of Santa Maria Della Salute, the Accademia Gallery, the Ca'd'Oro and the Grassi, Corner-Spinelli and the Grimani Palaces.

The tourists will be able to enjoy the scenery and be enchanted by the songs that are sung by the boat master while going through the passageways and crossing bridges such as the Accademia, Rialto and the Scalzi. The most famous of these is the Rialto that has shops on both sides for customers to buy souvenirs and bring home.

The tourists should also check out the Piazza San Marco where a few meters away, lies the Basilica of San Marco and the Doge’s Palace. A few meters away from the palace is the bridge of Sighs which connects this building to the judicial office and the prison.

There are so many places to go to but Europe has charmed its way into the hearts of a lot of many people as the destinations like Paris, Spain and many more. Situated in between the North Sea and the Baltic and the only Scandinavian country connected to the European mainland. (The southern border of the Jutland Peninsula meets with Germany.) This country has 407 named islands, many of which are uninhabited. The capital, Copenhagen, is situated on Sealand, the largest island. The entire country is 43,000 square kilometres/16,630 square miles in area, not including Greenland and the Faroe Islands. The coastline is 7.300 km long. It is offers a lot of exciting attractions to the adventurous traveler and has a great number exciting as well as interesting places for a vacationing traveler to visit.

Copenhagen is a lively place to go around and present a number of attractions that will interest and appeal its many visitors. An excellent network of public transportation which include buses and trains help make going around for tourists easier and its friendly people would be willing to guide a lost tourist to get him back to enjoying the wonderful sights and sounds that the city has to offer.

Some of the attractions that you will likely find in this city are the beautiful ancient castles and palaces that spread all over the area. One of them is the Amalienborg which was built by Frederik V to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the House of Oldenburg, Amalienborg is actually a vast complex which consists of four palaces that is built around a square. In the square, an equestrian statue of Frederik V stands imposingly which, together with the surrounding palace buildings, forms a breathtaking architectural ensemble that is just too good to miss.

There is also the Asistens Kirkegard which is also known as Copenhagen's biggest cemetery. This is where notable people in Denmark such as Hans Christian Andersen are buried. If you are still amazed at the spectacular architecture found in the city, you might also want to visit the Borsen or the Stock Exchange. It is one of Copenhagen's oldest and most spectacular architectural buildings. The Stock Exchange was built by Christian IV during the 1600's in an effort to make the city into a major financial center able to compete with Amsterdam.

What is remarkable about this building is that it was built on top of water and stands on filled-in foundations. With canals surrounding it on three sides, this building was able to survive various fires that may have destroyed it through the years. The building's imposing spire is what makes The Stock Exchange stand out in the whole of Copenhagen. This spectacular spire is formed by four dragons with tails intertwined and topped by three golden crowns which stand for the three Scandinavian countries.

Then there is the Stroget which is an open market where different modes of transportation are banned to allow thousands of shoppers to freely walk around the streets. The Stroget is an open air market filled with bars, burger joints as well as a variety of high end and bargain stores that haws everything available for everyone. Walking down Stroget is always an experience in itself and should not be missed whenever one visits Copenhagen. And most of all, the excited visitor should not miss what is known as the most famous of Copenhagen's tourist attractions, the Den Lille Havfrue or the Little Mermaid.

The Little Mermaid can be found sitting on a rock that overlooks the harbor of Copenhagen. It was inspired by the fairytale created by Denmark's most famous son, Hans Christian Andersen. There are many more sights that await every visitor here in Denmark and it is not all located in the capital alone.

A more exciting adventure is always at hand when you having vacation here. This city is also known as the "Pearl of the Danube" and its striking panorama view is included in the list of UNESCO's World Heritage sites. Hungary is one of those places that's always worth visiting even through the many ups and downs that it has experienced throughout the years.

Hungary is also the place where exciting adventures and pleasant surprises always await the eager visitor. The capital city of Budapest alone has a lot to offer to its visiting guests. For landmarks, there is a strange looking oval shaped stone that is located at a small park beside Clark Adam ter. It might look like a modern artwork but it is actually the zero kilometer mark for the city of Budapest. This odd looking landmark is the official marking point from which all the distances from all over the country are being measured. It is something that every visitor should try and see.

Another place worth visiting in Budapest is the Buda Hills offers the tourist a splendid view of the surrounding city in all directions. The visitor can climb up the Erzsebet Lookout Tower to enjoy even a more breathtaking view. Another place worth visiting in grand Budapest is the Castle District where beautiful ancient buildings still line the medieval street network that has remained unaltered apart from other establishments which have been thoroughly restored after incurring some damage during previous wars.

Walking through this district, one may be able to catch a glimpse of the remains of a Dominican monastery or some Turkish tombstones found at the northwestern corner as one walks along the castle walls. Architectural beauties can also be found in dozens here in Budapest as well as in all of this country.

There is the Spectacular Chain Bridge which not only looks spectacular but can also provide a visitor with a wonderful panoramic view of the beautiful city which becomes even more impressive at night. Among the many beautiful monuments found in the city include the Heroes' Square which was built in the late 1800's. On top of the spire stands the Archangel Gabriel surrounded by seven statues representing the ancient chiefs of the Magyar tribes who settled in the area in the past. The large open space serves as a memorial to the Hungarian War heroes and has become a wonderful attraction for tourists and local visitors.

Then there are several majestic churches that can dazzle your eyes as you go around Budapest. One of the most well known is the church of Saint Anne, which is also known to be the finest Baroque church in the whole of Budapest.

A work of a still unknown architect, this church graces the surrounding area with its imposing and graceful structure and is known for its strikingly original blue gilded pulpit that is unlike any other any visitor has seen. There are also a lot of beautiful museums to visit in Budapest where visitors can further learn about the ancient and colorful history and how this country came to be one of the most interesting places to see.

Every traveler should choose Hungary as one of the must visit vacation destinations because many beautiful places that they can explore in their lifetime and it will not surely be a disappointment in any sense of the word.

Enjoy your vacation. Vacations in Iceland is not only closer than you think, but far different than you ever imagined. Where else can you witness such marvels of Mother Nature as a tremendous icecap and several glaciers, spouting geysers, solfataras, volcanoes , raging rivers and magnificent waterfalls, a multitude of birds, cavorting whales just offshore and many other surprises. Those who want to visit can take a plane such as Iceland Air that is the national carrier. Passengers can get a direct flight from the USA or Europe to get to this place.

Summers are surprisingly warm and winters not as cold as you might expect. Regardless of when you visit, be assured that the warmth shown by Icelanders, their desire to share their culture and the efforts made to make your stay as pleasant as possible will, like the spectacular landscape, never be forgotten.

If the person wants to take it slow getting there, there are ferries that are available between the months of May to September from the Denmark. Along the way, the person will see the natural harbors and farming communities who have relied on fishing and the planting of fruits and vegetables for centuries.

The price either by air or sea is almost the same so it is just a matter of choice how fast the individual wants to get there. After landing at the airport or disembarking from the ferry, the group will have to board a bus to go to the city. There is only one road in or out so it is impossible to get lost.

After unpacking those bags, the group can rent a car or take a bus to visit the various geysers or active volcanoes. Since gas in this part of the world is quite expensive, some tourists have decided to rent a bike instead to get to the desired destination.

Getting the body relaxed through this method has kept many Icelanders relaxed and in relative comfort. Life is simple here and this is the best way to recover from a hectic schedule at the office.

The Sjómannadagurinn Fyrsti Fyrsti which is held on the third Thursday of April celebrates the first day of summer. Similar events to this are the Pjóðhátíð and the Verslunarmannahelgi that happen in August which has a lot of barbecues, camping out, family reunions and excessive drinking.

The best time to go there is in June. Various activities are held during this time such as the Sjomannadagurinn which is an event dedicated to seafarers. Sports events are held such as swimming, tug of war and sea rescues.

A few days later, the locals are in a party mod as the entire country celebrates its independence day with parades, street music and dancing as well as plays or operas done in the outdoor theatre.

During the midsummer, another tradition that allegedly cures the sick is known as the Midsummer Night’s dew which happens by rolling naked on the cold ground. The weather in Iceland is quite cold. It is best to bring a jacket as well as some extra clothing to put underneath. Tourists are also advised to bring a lot of cash since the ATM machines will only accept international checking accounts.

Vacations in Iceland in many ways is another world compared to other places that a person has traveled. A lot of interesting places that you can explore. Happy vacations! Lonely Planet introduces Finland as a “cool zone of design and fashion in Helsinki, surrounded by remote wilderness areas. Finland is a breath of fresh air on a European adventure.”

Finland is located in somewhere in Northern Europe where it shares its borders with Sweden, Norway, Russia and Estonia. It is one of the thinly populated areas in the world with only over five million people living in a country of over 127,000 sq. mile area.

And yet it is considered as one of the top ranking countries in the UN human Development Index which compares countries from all over the world on certain factors such as poverty, literacy, life expectancy, education, etc. and because of this, this country is known as one of the most desirable places to live in.

Aside from its excellent way of life, it is also known for its many wonderful attractions. It is a country known for its many wonderful scenic lakes and islands. Tourists can visit some of its more than 180,000 lakes and islands. Helsinki is known as the capital of the country and it can be a good place to start on your tour of the country. Helsinki alone offers you a number of exciting places to visit.

You can visit Bylandet which is probably the best sightseeing island in the Espoo archipelago. Its magnificent scenery and breathtaking natural beauty will stay with you for a very long time. The island itself is so full of beauty and natural magnificence that spending just a day there would be enough. Try to spend a couple of days on the island to try and soak up the atmosphere and marvel at all the splendor before you. Great man-made sights also scatter all around the island with its old Russian bunkers well worth a look.

While you are still in the capital, you might also consider visiting some of its well known parks. One of them would be Kaivopuisto which is Helsinki's most famous park. This beautiful area has cliffs that can offer visitors breathtaking views of the whole city and the archipelago.

This spacious park was first established mainly as a spa facility for the wealthy in early times. Kaivopuisto is a popular place to go for strolls and enjoy summer picnics with your family and co-travelers. It becomes the best place to visit in the city during May Day where thousands of people try to spend the day here. This beautiful park is also used for many events, celebrations and free concerts which add more excitement to the whole area. If you find yourself here during the winter, you might want to take a visit at the Senate Square in Helsinki. Every year at wintertime, a little church made of snow rises up in the middle of the Square just in front of the Lutheran Cathedral. This spectacular snow church becomes a popular attraction every year during winter where people try to marvel it from the inside and out.

Services are held inside the church on Sunday mornings and this small church is equipped with wooden doors as well as windows and seats which add to its appeal. There are more attractions in store for you where exciting adventures and scenic marvels await you. Finland is perhaps best known for its peacefulness and beautiful nature. Vast forests, a unique archipelago and thousands of lakes present a striking mixture of wooded hills and waters. Enjoy your trip! Have fun! Enchanting medieval villages and traditional wine villages with friendly festivals and regional specialities. For me this country is a must visit destination because the picturesque countryside which is perfect for walking or simply relaxing in. Castles, palaces and abbeys that are the epitome of German romanticism. Fun & sport, wellness & relaxation.

Germany has close to more than 82 million inhabitants. It has more than 6 cities such as Hamburg, Stuttgart, Munich, Cologne and Leipzig. The biggest of these, which is also its capital, is Berlin.

The end of the second world war divided this city into what was known as East and West Berlin. For thirty years, Checkpoint Charlie was the only border crossing for people to get in or out of this place since the Russians put up the wall.

When this came down in late 1990, the country was united again and the only remnants of that time are a border sign and a soldiers post.

The Reichstag is another important landmark. This building has been in existence for more than a hundred years and is still used today as the seat of the government.

The Friedrichstrasse is the most famous street in this city. Not only because it is near Checkpoint Charlie but because of the numerous shops that people can go to buy certain things. It is 3.5 kilometers long and the tourist who loves watching plays or opera can catch a show at the “Wintergarten”, a famous theatre located along this stretch.

One of the oldest landmarks is the Brandenburg Gate. Built in the late 18th century by Wilhelm II, this now symbolizes unification especially when this country was divided after its defeat in World War 2. No vehicles are allowed here so visitors can walk through the this place and take the time to get a few snapshots.

Believe it or not, Berlin has over 140 museums. The individual can check out the Alte Museum, The Neue Museum, The Alte National Galerie, The Bodemuseum and the Pergamonmuseseum to name a few. Each features various paintings and sculptures that date back from the 18th century until the present.

Those who can’t control the urge and want to see how various cultures do it can visit the Erotic Museum. Visitors can buy toys and other stuff to enhance sexual pleasures and is considered to be the 5th most frequented place in all of Berlin.

If Paris has the Eiffel Tower, Berlin has the TV tower. This is the tallest building in Berlin and is visited by more than a million people annually. Tourists can get up to the viewing deck to see the entire city as it stands over 203 meters.

Actually, I am a big fan of National Football Team because I like very much the players like Michael Ballack and the coach - Juergen Klinsman. Perhaps catching a game at the Olympiastadion will make the person appreciate more why this is considered to be a very popular sport.

There are many ways to get to here. Travelers can arrive by plane since the capital has three airports. Tourists can also come in by train should the people be going on a trip all across Europe. Some of the places to check out are a bit far. Fortunately, the city has an excellent transport system so it will not be hard to take a bus from the Exhibition center in Charlottenburg or rent a car.

Enjoy your travel and have fun! The traveller’s should plan their vacation in this country because it has a high cost of living. Aside from the centuries-old castles, picturesque lakes, rustic villages, bustling city centers, amazing shopping and unique recipes, there are things about Switzerland that are really one-of-a-kind.

The top places of interest in this rich country that you just can't miss :

Zurich: Bahnhofstrasse: The famous - one of the most beautiful shopping areas in Europe - is a must . Elegant fashion stores, department stores, boutiques with top quality products and pastry shops line the street.

Zurich: The National Museum (Landesmuseum) and Fine Arts (Kunsthaus Zurich), the Botanical Gardens, the Thomas Mann Archives, and the Urania Observatory should also be high on your list.

Zurich: Uetliberg v. Lindenhof: The views of the Alps are spectacular. If you're not "up" to it, then head for one of the most romantic and peaceful areas , the Lindenhof, for a leisurely afternoon or even to watch a nice game of chess.

Geneva: Explore the famous fountain, and the incredible shopping of the most international city in the world first, then settle in to be floored by Jet d'Eau (that big fountain you can see from everywhere) and plenty of chocolate. What does the International Red Cross or the World Bank have in common? The headquarters of these offices are in the city of Geneva. The old town which has stood for centuries is still worth visiting even if its popularity has been shifted away to the activities done by these world organizations.

Lucerne: Is another place worth visiting that the group can walk and interact among the locals at the old town or enjoy walking by the lake. The Chapel Bridge and Water Tower must not be missed. The same goes for the fine museums that include the Picasso, Rosengart and Wagner .

Lausanne: The art collections is stored at the Musee de l'Art Brut in Lausanne, along with the Olympic Museum, the fine Palais de Rumine, and most inspiring Gothic cathedral.

Basel: Meandering around the old town of Basel, split rather delicately by the Rhine, will put you in the path of the impressive Rathaus, the 12th-century cathedral, and excellent Museum of Fine Arts, and more, in one of the nation's most progressive cities.

Grindelwald: Grindelwald has done more to develop groomed winter hiking trails than any other community in the Alps. At any given time, the village streets may be teeming with young daredevils carting their neon-colored boards and more mature walkers with their backpacks, walking sticks, and small sleds.

Montreaux: The most popular resort on Lac Lèman, Montreux is blessed with a uniquely balmy microclimate that allows even palm trees to survive the winter! These unusual conditions make Montreux a garden spot at its lower altitudes, even though grand mountains tower just above. Every year in July, there is the jazz festival set at the waterfront of Lac Leman. Those who want to catch fireworks should be there during the first of August.

Those who love to ski or would like a lesson can go to the Matterhorn Zermatt. This resort is not only for those who want to scale down a mountain but also is a place where tourists can relax and enjoy the white covered landscape. Those who want to enjoy the festivities with the locals should find time to come during the month of February. This is because of the carnival that will take place putting everyone is in a festive mood that will have bands, circus acts and parades the entire week. This occasion also marks the beginning of spring and tourist and locals can buy fresh flowers at discounted prices. There are also fruits that can be eaten while going on another trip into the mountains.

Those who want to visit this beauty country should bring a lot of warm clothes since the weather is cold throughout the year. Other activities that can be done aside from skiing are hiking and mountain climbing as long the proper footwear and gear are available.

Enjoy your happy vacation!Bye!

Technorati tag:vacation switzerland

Vacation In Paris

Paris is a majestic city, a city of culture, romance, gastronomy, design and fashion. You are sure to take home some unforgettable memories!

Technorati tag:vacation

Vacation In London

When you are traveling in Europe, London is a must visit destination and one of Europe’s biggest business is its tourism industry. I already been there last year with my families. The sights to see here are boundless. If you are overwhelmed by all the possibilities then think very carefully about the objective of your vacation. From then on you can start jotting down the places you want to visit and cut them down if you think you are going to have problems due to time constraint.

London is for you to taste the English kind of life - the privileged and the luxurious kind of life. Having an unguided stroll through this path while smelling the breeze of the Thames River is something you cannot do in other countries that are too developed because most of those cities will be filled with big buildings so the city sidewalk is all you have along with the noisy cars. You also have to check out Harrod’s to get a taste of English shopping. The home of the royalties that is the Buckingham Palace has been the residence of the royal bloods since Queen Victoria’s time.

Here are some places of interest in London you should try in your schedule:

Trafalgar Square: Getting this areas many places that you can visit like the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, and the church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields (anyone hear a choir?) are all off the square. Climbing up on Admiral Nelson's lions to get your picture taken is technically illegal but popular all the same.

London Eye: The ultimate Ferris wheel (same like Ferris in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) is comparatively new to the city and is already quite popular. You may make reservations in advance for a pod "flight" and get a 360° view of the whole kit-n-caboodle. Book online in advance to save a few pounds, or buy a ticket on site (you may not be able to get a ticket for the exact day you wish, though). It costs about $16. More information about Ferris wheel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia please visit Eye On Malaysia

The Tower and the Tower Bridge: The Tower became best known in its role as the home of the damned. Come to see the royal armory and Crown jewels, among the countless other structures, then walk around to the suicide-proof Tower Bridge, with new exhibits in each tower house at either end. Crowds don't show up until about 10:30, but the Tower opens at 9. Get there a little early and see it without the crowds.

British Museum: The British Museum is also home to the Rosetta Stone and the newly refurbished King's Library. Admission is free; there is a small charge for certain exhibits. The museum is open till 8:30 on Thursday and Friday evenings, the best times to go. The museum is inspiring just for its size. It looks and feels like a good, old-fashioned museum, with enormous, thick walls, high ceilings, massive stone staircases that curve around from here to there, and lots of mummies.

Victoria and Albert Museum: Take time to explore the endless other galleries, and consider, as you spend a few hours roaming the halls, that for every artifact you see, the museum has another ten in storage someplace. Of all the treasures stored at the V&A, some of the most interesting are located in the Fakes and Forgeries gallery--a bona fide collection of counterfeits. That means the display is revolving, so this massive space is worth more than one visit.
Cabinet War Rooms: Admission to the war rooms is about $7. Churchill and his staff conducted operations from here during World War II. You'll be amazed at what was accomplished with what seems today like so few resources.

Buckingham Palace: Unless you have Windsor someplace in your string of last names, forget hanging out in the royal residence in a smoking jacket with your elbow on the mantle. But informative tours are available at select times of the year. If you're just any old bloke, or if the tours are not available, check out the Changing of the Guard at 11 a.m. Pack breakfast and get there before 10 for a good view.

Ok that’s it for today and enjoy your vacation in London like me..he..he…Bye!

p/s more information about my homeland visit here My Homeland

Vacation In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur is a capital cities of Malaysia and one of the most vibrant cities in Asia. This country ( Italy ) has a lot of history and culture and those who lived in this part of the world were those who established most of the things people enjoy today. Planning a vacation and deciding where to go can be challenging. This is because there are so many places to choose from and it takes a large amount of money should the person travel with the whole family. Exploring this country will take more than a week to do. This is because there are so many cities to choose from so it is best to plan the itinerary. For me, Rome is a must visit destination! Check it out this free video below!

Around this city, many interesting places you can visit like a old monument, museums & galleries and churches.

OLD MONUMENTS

Colosseum
The granddaddy of all Roman monuments, this arena known to the ancients as the "Flavian Amphitheater" hosted 450 years of gladiatorial contests and wild beast hunts... "games," as they were called in antiquity.

Palatine
This is where this city began, back in 753 BC when Romulus killed Remus. The Palatine Hill was the best real estate in ancient of this country (the emperors chose to live there, after all), and it's still one of the best locations today.

RomanForum
This was the downtown area of the ancient city, where you could cross paths with Cicero or Caesar himself on their way to the political, religious, and commercial buildings which are still visible here today, 2000 years later, in various states of preservation

DomusAurea
The ruins of Emperor Nero's legendary "Golden House," which in its day took up one-third of the city , the Domus Aurea remains one of the most unique and impressive sites.

Those who want to see the works of Michelangelo and the center of the Church should visit here where the Vatican City and the Sistine Chapel are located. Remnants of the Roman Empire where gladiators once fought can be seen in the Colosseum while the Pantheon is also an important landmark to check out. Another city a few miles north area is Florence. Here, the individual will visit the former capital of this country before it was transferred .

MUSEUMS & GALLERIES

ACEA(Montemartini)ArtCenter
Important pieces from the Capitoline collection of ancient sculpture displayed among the machinery of an old power plant.

AntiquariumComunale
Archaeological excavations throughout of nationhood in the 19th century uncovered all kinds of artifacts, from funerary marbles to everyday objects like plumbing components, now on display in the "City Antiquarium

BorgheseGallery
A wonderfully intimate collection of some of the most important Renaissance and Baroque paintings in the world, including works by Raphael, Titian, and Caravaggio, plus amazing Baroque and Neo-Classical sculptures by Bernini and Canova. P.le Museo Borghese (Villa Borghese).

CapitolineMuseums
Made up of two separate buildings: the Palazzo Nuovo houses an incredibly rich collection of Roman sculpture (including the original of the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius); the Palazzo dei Conservatori and Braccio Nuovo house more ancient sculpture as well as Renaissance and Baroque art.

CHURCHES

St. Peter 's in the Vatican .
The biggest church in the world. Also wins prize for Most Expensive Church , Church with Most Artists' Masterpieces and Church with Most Popes' Tombs. The list of what this church has is long, so we'll cut to the chase. Go there. It's amazing.

St. John Lateran (San Giovanni).
The 17th-century Borromini-designed basilica you see here today was built over the spot where Constantine built first church in 318 AD.

Santa Maria Maggiore.
(First runner-up: Santa Maria in Trastevere). Everywhere you look in this magnificent church (one of the four patriarchal basilicas ), there are tesserae, tiny tiles of colored marble and gold, telling Biblical stories, from the nave to the apse.

San Clemente
Is the run-away winner here, effortlessly combining elements of a 4th-century church, an imperial Roman palace, and a Mithraeum (a cult chamber for an Eastern religion involving sacrificial bulls, a hero in a chef's hat, and scorpions seizing testicles.)

Those who are plan to have vacation here should reserve a hotel at least a month before. It will be difficult to get one anywhere as the peak season keeps these places packed during July and August which is the only time that it is warm. The arrangements can be done manually but it is best to ask the travel agent for assistance so nothing is missed during the planning stages. There are two airports where the plane can land .The airline one has chosen may land at Ciampino Airport or at Fiumicino Airport. From there, the individual can rent a car or take a cab to the reserved hotel.Getting around to visit the sites can be expensive if the person does not know where to go. One can do some research before flying in or get a brochure to know where the bus and trams are located which will surely save money on food and gifts to bring home.It is a good thing the transport system well connected. Buying a metrocard allows the traveler to move around from one place to another similar to the one used in the New York subway system. Should the group decide to see other cities , the Termini Stations is not that hard to find. This is very close to the Via Veneto, Santa Marcia Maggiore Church and the Colosseum.

Walking around Rome will be tiring given that some of these places are quite far. Instead of driving that could get the group lost or wasting money on cab fare, the person can check out the public tours that is being offered. This is still much cheaper than hiring a private coach that will also go along the same route. Ok that’s it for today. Enjoy your vacation in Rome!

Vacation In Sweden

Last month my sister and her families visited Sweden. She had a great time there. This is my review about this beautiful country. Another Nordic country considered one of the best places to choose as travel destination. Belonging to the Scandinavian group with common culture, Sweden is proud to unravel its majestic close distance to the Arctic, beautiful metropolis and the rest of the area with low population density except in the capital.

The people basically enjoy a high standard of living since 1930 with all the luxury a modern world can extend to every advanced country of good economic standing. It became a part of the European Union in 1995 together with Finland and Austria after silently keeping neutral in a cold war with the unified nations. Sweden has temperate climate although its latitude location is in the North. The gulf adjacent to it played an important role in giving it a better climate with less harsher winters, though like most countries hit by the Arctic belt, the sun does not set in summers and it has periods endless winter night for a period of time.

Aurora Borealis of northern lights can be experienced in the Swedish skies every winter. Being called "land of the midnight sun" like Norway, this happens because of the periodical winter nights with no sunset in the northern part of this countries. Its boundary is separated from Norway by a mountain range running longitudinal along the peninsula.

Here are the travel options you can read if you choose to visit the fabulous places here:

STOCKLHOLM:

Vacation in Stockholm has exquisite architectural buildings, ornate monuments, museums, and superb landscape. If you’re interested in urban trends, Stockholm has two main districts to visit. The first is the area comprising the vibrant city centre, the entertainment hub of Stureplan, and the exclusive Ostermalm district. Here you find most of the large department stores, international brands, luxury shops, museums, galleries, nightclubs and gourmet restaurants. The second is the Sodermalm neighbourhood and the area around Gotgatan and “SoFo” (South of Folkungagatan), with its diverse blend of youthful, trendy, creative and often more bohemian fashion and design shops, plus a wealth of restaurants, bars, cafés, markets and galleries.

Two other areas with their own distinctive style that will appeal to cosmopolitan visitors are Vasastan and Kungsholmen. In Vasastan, the areas around Odenplan and Roslagsgatan and Rorstrandsgatan streets offer many exciting locations for shopping, restaurants, galleries and nightlife. On Kungsholmen, the district around Fridhemsplan has gained new energy with many interesting new restaurants and shops. It has a unique island, in the city, Gamla Stan, actually an old town much attributed to medieval influences, a place perfect to start a good travel in the heart of the capital. With the hint of classic touch, the city unravels homely cobblestones making right of way to antique shops, old-fashioned boutiques, studios, and other cozy commercial establishments.

SKIING RESORTS:

One of the largest Northern Skiing resort with world-class amenities is the slopes of Are, adjacent to Duved known for alpine sports. It has accommodation for heli-skiing and other extreme sport adventures like sleighing with dogs, snow boarding, ice climbing and the like. For the benefit of less active tourists or beginners, it has options for easy skiing for children and the novices. Aside from the ice adventure, it also offers other sports like mountain biking, kayaking, hiking and leisure walking, mountain climbing and trekking.

GOTHENBURG:

Second biggest city is known for its friendly atmosphere, and everything from shopping and museums to cafés and nightclubs are within comfortable walking distance. Vacation in Gothenburg also has many fine restaurants with excellent chefs. Among the specialities are fresh fish and seafood. Chefs from Gothenburg have won the prestigious”Chef of the Year” title seven times in the past nine years.

The parade street Avenyn is an attraction in itself, with its constantly vibrant pulse, outdoor restaurants, nightclubs and lots of people. The largest indoor shopping centre, Nordstan, you’ll find the latest fashions and specialist stores. The Art Museum is famous for its collection of Nordic art and the Gothenburg Opera House gives both classical and modern performances. Liseberg amusement park is the most visited attraction in Scandinavia. Ok enough for today.Bye!

Vacation In Hawaii

Vacation in Hawaii will leave you an indelible impression on your memory. Some of my friend already been there. They suggested to me 6 things to do on your first trip. A popular places like visiting the USS Arizona and USS Missouri memorials in Oahu's Pearl Harbor, drive the Munro Trail on Lanai for incredible views, take a mule ride down to the Kalaupapa Peninsula on Molokai, take the long, winding, scenic road to Hana on Maui, enjoy the stunning scenery from various points along Kauai's Napali Coast and view the active Kilauea Volcano at Volcanoes National Park on Hawaii's Big Island.

Why Oahu? From there you can visit USS Missouri and USS Arizona memorials in Oahu's Pearl Harbor and pay your respects, watch world-class surfers charge the big waves on the North Shore, dress up and experience downtown nightlife/art galleries.

Why Lanai? Hike up to Munro Trail for views of neighboring islands Maui, Molokai, Kahoolawe, Oahu, and Hawaii’s Big island. See the spinner dolphins in Hulopoe Bay. Tee up at two championship golf courses: The Challenge at Manele and The Experience at Koele. Four-wheel drive to the lunar landscapes of Keahiakawelo, the "Garden of the Gods".

Why Molokai? Boat out to see the world’s tallest sea cliffs (3600 feet) along the North Shore. Take a memorable mule ride through Kalaupapa National Historical Park and learn about the selfless acts of Father Damien. Hike through the breathtaking Halawa Valley.

Why Maui? Spot a humpback whale on a whale watching excursion. Snap a picture of striking Iao Needle in Iao Valley. Watch the sunrise atop the 10,000-foot Haleakala Crater. Spend a day browsing the museums, shops, and restaurants of Lahaina. Drive up the scenic, 53-mile Hana highway.

Why Kauai? Kayak down the only navigable rivers here.Take a helicopter ride along the 3000-foot cliffs of the Napali coast. Hike up Waimea Canyon for stunning views of the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”.

Why Hawaii's Big Island? Play in the snow atop Mauna Kea, the world’s tallest mountain. Explore Puukohola Heiau, the largest restored ancient Hawaiian religious temple. Enjoy the entertainment, culture, and cuisine in Hilo and Kailua-Kona. Hike through Waipio Valley, the “Valley of the Kings”. See molten lava flow at Kilauea volcano in Volcanoes National Park.

There is no doubt that there are millions of people out there, not only Americans but other nationalities as well, who dream of spending that one dream vacation in this popular island. There are so many places to go to but Hawaii has charmed its way into the hearts of a lot of many people as the destination for all sorts of things and occasions. Among all the other continents, vacationing in this 'Aloha' island tops most people’s list mainly because of the different sites to see and the various cultures to experience.

So you see there is nothing like a vacation here. All you have to do is to really plan your trip so you will be able to cover the countries you want to cover for the entire period of your visit. Tours and packages are available all year round but have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Some tours and packages are crammed so you do not really get to explore as much as you can but they can also help you go to more areas even for just a short period of time. If you are game to go backpacking then that will be a different kind of adventure but can still be fit for your trip as long as you just take the right stuff with you and more importantly the right company to join you.

Vacation In Spain

A miles south in the Atlantic Ocean lies Spain. Vacation in Spain is not only about sun, great cuisine, and warm welcome, but also its rich monumental heritage and dazzling natural environment. There is a perfect destination for everyone. This country has more than 4 centuries of rich history and culture that makes it the third most visited places in the world.

Spain has more than 10 cities that make up this country. Each of these places is worth visiting if only the person has the time. This is the reason some tourists stay as long as two or three days before moving on to other cities to appreciate the sights.

One city that is located in the eastern tip of Spain is Barcelona. Aside from this being the venue of the 2002 Olympics, it also has marvelous church called the La Sagrada Familia, the fortress known as the Castell de Montjuic and the La Casa Mila, Pargue Guell Waterfront ( a World Heritage site ), Costa Del Garraf, Port Vell and the Columbus monument, which are homes that have beautiful balconies and chimneys. A great capital like Barcelona has and impressive and varied array of beaches around the city as well as urban beaches such as Barceloneta, Marbella, Nova Marbella and Bogatell.

Those who love going to Museums should pay a visit to Madrid that is the capital of Spain. There are over 50 museums to check out and a huge palace that has 2600 rooms which is hard to visit in just one day.

Another city close to the bay of Biscay is Bilbao. Often considered to be the American version of Detroit, it is no wonder that there is a lot of steel work going on such as the Guggenheim museum. Bilbao is the heart of a metropolis with a population of more than a million people. Ambitious architectural and general infrastructure projects have fuelled the urban and financial regeneration of the city. The Guggenheim museum; the Eskalduna Concert Hall and Convention centre; the underground, built by Norman Foster; the aiport, built by Calatrava and many more.

The most festive in this place is the Semana Grande where a major bullfighting event is held. Tourists can also eat, drink and be merry with the locals since the parties are from dusk until dawn.

The city of Madrid is another nice place to visit. It has rose gardens and the Crystal palace. Those who want to see the king and queen may get lucky by going to the Palacio Real, which is the home to the Spanish monarchy.

The most visited place in Madrid is the Paseo del Prado. Its has artwork both of Spanish and some international artists. Another place is the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia that has on display the works of Dali, Miro and Picasso.

Spain also a World Heritage Cities. The Spanish World Heritage Cities group includes most of the cities that UNESCO has protected in Spain: Santiago De Compostela, Salamanca, Avila, Caceres, Merida, Cordoba, Toledo, Segovia, Alcala De Heranes, Cuenca, Taragona, Eivissa and San Cristobal De Laguna.

Spain can be visited at almost any time of the year. This is because the parties and the festivities just keep on coming such as the bull run or a similar version of the Mardi Gras.

Those who may find the weather to be too cold or hot should visit Spain during May to September when it is considered to be just right.

The individual should bring a few memory cards along with that digital camera since carrying around rolls of film is quite difficult visiting the various sights.

Spain is the fashion capital. One should dress in bright colors to be able to blend in with the locals that could help get discounts when shopping for gifts and other items from the shops on the road. Women can wear a dress while the men can walk around in linen clothing.

Visitors are encouraged to wear sandals or rubber shoes. This will prevent the feet from getting sore after walking around the various places from the morning until the day ends in the early afternoon.

Those who want to check out Spain should bring a jacket and perhaps an umbrella should it rain because the weather changes especially in the mountains or by the sea. Happy Vacation in Spain!
